Fun Summer Activities For You and Your Dog!

It's summertime again, and dogs love this time of year as much as we do! You and your dog can bond and get some exercise together. Below is a list of activities to start with. Some take more planning than others, and some only need a leash and a free afternoon. To be prepared, make sure your dog interacts well with others and is up to date on shots.

Dog Training Classes

Dog Training is an excellent way to sharpen your skills in dog handling. In training, you may recognize a problem situation which you've just been living with, and learn how to solve it. Both you and your dog will get exercise, mental stimulation, and a chance to socialize with other dog lovers and dogs. Some dog classes run one day while others last for weeks. Look for the one that fits your needs.

Doggy Daycare

Taking your dog to a dog day care facility frees you up for some recreation that is not focused on the dog while your dog has a fun and active day playing and socializing with other dogs in a safe environment. That way everyone has a good time.

Vacation with Your Dog

More hotels are becoming pet-friendly so you can take your dog on vacation with you. Plan some dog-friendly activities while you're on vacation. Sometimes a new park or a new place to walk will be plenty of new fun for them.

Trip to Beach/Hike trails/Dog Park

Trails, beaches, and dog parks are a great place for dogs to exercise and catch new scents. You can exercise together at your own pace. Just remember to clean up after your dog, use a collar with your contact information on it, and pack some water.
